Captain George H. Grant

Captain George H. Grant went to sea at age fourteen. At sixteen he brought the Norman Monarch safely in to port. He was torpedoed five times during World War I, but safely steamed 250,000 miles in World War II. He retired after a career of fifty years with The United Fruit Company, and was credited with saving over 106 lives.
