Description

It has been made into several films and a musical. It was the first of what became “The Bounty Trilogy”, which continues with Men Against the Sea, and concludes with Pitcairn’s Island.

Captain William Bligh and eighteen loyal men are cast off in a twenty-three foot open boat by the Bounty mutineers and set out for Coupang in Timor, a journey of more than 3,600 miles.

The Wreck of the Wild Wave (1942)
In 1858, the Wild Wave, clipper, under Captain Josiah N. Knowles, departed San Francisco for New York. Barely a month later, they were wrecked on the reefs about Oeno Island. The captain and seven of the crew sailed to Pitcairn Island seeking help, and found it deserted.
